Born in Turkey. BA in Psychology at Bogazici University in Istanbul and a PhD in Linguistics and Psychology at the University of Chicago. Professor of Linguistics and Social Sciences at Radboud University Nijmegen since 2010 and director of the Multimodal Language and Cognition Lab, whose members are spread across the Max Planck Institute for Psycholinguistics, the Centre for Language Studies and the Donders Institute for Cognition at Radboud University. ERC Starting Grant and NWO VIDI and VICI grants received. Member of the Scientific Advisory Board and PI of the Language in Interaction Consortium. Director and Scientific Member at the Max Planck Institute for Psycholinguistics (since August 2022).
