The Max Planck Society supports international applicants and employees with information on living and working in Germany, including residency, accommodation, and cultural tips.
Are you planning to come to Germany to study or work or are you already working for Max Planck? Wonderful! In 2023, the Max Planck Society, as a very international scientific organization, employed scientists from 134 different countries. We aim to guide you and all international employees who are planning to work for us every year through the special challenges before and during your stay in Germany. We therefore offer a wide range of information and other services or contact points.
For example, we have published a brochure in which you can find all the important information about living and working in Germany. It includes tips on various issues ranging from residence law, finding accommodation and finances to leisure activities and culture in Germany.
Max Planck also offers programmes and services that can provide you with answers and assistance. Information and contact addresses on dual career and family, diversity and inclusion as well as other important topics can be found here on our what makes us special page.
Your respective contact person from the International Office, the Welcome Center or the HR department of your institute will also support you with advice and assistance throughout your stay and with lots of helpful information.
Research needs diversity, which is one of the reasons why the Dual Career and Welcome team is constantly working to further develop services for international employees.
Support and information will also be provided by the international offices / welcome services at the Max Planck Institutes.
