Job Offer from November 11, 2024The Max Planck Institute for Brain Research in Frankfurt am Main is a growing research institution in the field of biological/medical basic research, focusing specifically on the functioning of neural circuits. The institute currently has around 220 employees and consists of three research departments, several junior research groups, and various service units.
We are seeking a Grant Manager (m/f/d) part-time (20 hours per week) to cover parental leave from February 01, 2025, for an estimated period of 8 months, to provide administrative support and advice to our scientists in applying for and managing of third-party funded research projects.
Your responsibilities
- advise researchers on suitable funding opportunities
- provide administrative support to scientists during the application process and project implementation, e.g., guidance on applicable funding regulations
- independent project management, including financial monitoring (in collaboration with the institute’s administration and principal investigators) of our third-party funded projects from the European Union, the German Research Foundation (DFG), and other national and international funding organizations
- communicate and collaborate with contact persons from funding bodies, institute administration, and the relevant departments of the Max Planck Society's central administration
- regularly update and maintainance of the Grant Management’s internal and external websites
Your profile
- a degree in a relevant field with appropriate knowledge and experience, and an affinity for third-party funding management tasks
- experience in applying for and managing of third-party funds from national and international funding bodies (particularly ERC projects), as well as a deep understanding of funding organizations, their programs, and funding guidelines
- experience in administrative tasks at a research institution or university
- excellent communication skills in both German and English
- independent, structured, and service-oriented working style
- high intercultural competence and enjoying to work in a team
- experience with SAP-based administrative systems is an advantage
