Max Planck Partner Groups with foreign institutions
Promotion of international scientific networks
With more than 260 established and currently 85 active Partner Groups worldwide, the Max Planck Society promotes international network building. At the same time, partner groups serve to jointly promote young scientists worldwide and to strengthen scientific excellence at the respective foreign research institutions and universities
Max Planck Partner Groups are led by outstanding early career researchers who, after a research stay at a Max Planck Institute (MPI), move to a respective research institution or university, preferably in their home country. Max Planck Partner Groups enable collaboration in research areas that are innovative, scientifically promising, geared to the future and mutual interest both to the MPI and to the international partner institution.
Partner groups are set up for a maximum duration of five years.
