We seek applicants (m/f/d) for a postdoctoral research position as part of the Simons Collaboration on New Frontiers in Superconductivity. The position will be located in the group of Laura Classen at the Max Planck Institute for Solid State Research (MPI-FKF) in Stuttgart, Germany.

The MPI-FKF is an internationally renowned institute of the Max Planck Society for the Advancement of Science with a staff of 400 working in the field of fundamental research in chemistry and physics.

We are looking for highly motivated candidates who are interested in correlated electron systems and unconventional superconductivity. The goal of the Simons Collaboration on new Frontiers in Superconductivity is to understand superconductivity in systems with strong coupling, multiple valley and orbital degrees of freedom, and quantum geometric and topological influences.  

Candidates should have the following qualifications:

  • Ph.D. in theoretical physics
  • Experience with quantum field theory methods
  • Very good publication record in a relevant research field

The position will be available at the beginning of 2025 with anticipated duration of two years. Salary and social benefits will be in accordance with the regulations of the German TVöD Bund (salary agreement for public service employees).
