Job description

The project “Fairness and International Law” is affiliated with the research groups of Professor Anne Peters (Max Planck Institute for Comparative Public Law and International Law, Heidelberg) and Professor Marie-Claire Foblets (Max Planck Institute for Social Anthropology, Halle), and led by Professor Andreas von Arnauld, Walther Schücking Institute for International Law, Kiel. It aims to develop a theory of fairness in international law, based on the inclusion of legitimate interests of individuals, groups of individuals, and states. As senior research fellow you will contribute to developing the theoretical framework and potential research topics and act as project coordinator, assisting in organizing workshops and editing project-related publications, among others. You will also conduct your own postdoctoral research (individual publications and contribution to common research projects). Teaching at the law faculty of the University of Kiel can be arranged in consultation with the faculty. The position is open to candidates interested in acquiring a postdoctoral academic qualification in the form of a postdoctoral thesis (or a German Habilitation) or other publications. Further details are subject to agreement.
